Halbe is a map featured in Call to Battle 2. The map takes place during the Battle of Halbe fought on the outskirts of Berlin in the final weeks of World War II.
The German Ninth Army was tasked with assisting the Twelfth Army in Berlin but had been encircled in a pocket outside of the city at Spree Forest by the 1st Belorussian and 1st Ukrainian Fronts. Under the command of Theodor Busse, the Ninth Army attempted a breakout from the encirclement to surrender to the Western Allies. However, they sustained heavy casualties after fighting against Soviet forces. The Soviets destroyed what was left of the Ninth Army, after the battle with about 30,000 surviving troops managing to reach the lines of the Twelfth Army.
