Barbarossa
Barbarossa is a map featured in Call to Battle 2. It takes place in an unidentified Soviet town during Operation Barbarossa; the German invasion of the Soviet Union.
On June 22nd, 1941, Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union with the largest invasion force in history and violating a non-aggression pact signed by the two countries. The Soviets were caught off-guard and were defeated in battles such as Białystok-Minsk, Kiev, and Brody. The combined Axis force made staggering advances into Soviet territory during the initial stages of Operation Barbarossa, however a combination of overstretched supply lines, manpower problems, and determined Soviet resistance stalls the advance with the farthest it has gone being 1,800 miles and just 10-12 miles from Moscow.
